Description

Shapes to CAD — as easy as pen & paper.

Capture contours and surfaces with the CADPen — fast, precise, and effortless. Go from real-world objects to ready-to-use DXF files in seconds.

Workflow — at a glance

  1. Define sketch planes — place “sheets of paper” in 3D space where you’ll draw.
  2. Capture the geometry — as native CAD entities directly on the sketch planes.
  3. Export DXF — CAD-ready sketches in 2D & 3D.
  4. Open in your CAD tool — import the DXF and realize your project.

Draw Like a Pen

Trace real-world contours directly with the CADPen — as naturally as drawing on paper. Fast, intuitive, and precise, even around complex cut-outs or freeform edges.

2D & 3D Capture

Create multiple sketch planes, capture contours on each, and combine them into full 3D geometry. Define sketch planes in space and build up volumetric models step by step.

Why CADPen

Go from real-world shapes to clean CAD geometry — fast, reliable, and without cleanup.

Fast Setup

From unboxing to your first DXF file in minutes — minimal steps, clear guidance.

No Prep · No Cleanup

Works without sprays or surface treatment, and produces results that don’t need point-cloud post-processing.

Universal Compatibility

DXF export integrates with virtually all CAD platforms and workflows.

Capabilities

Remote Control

Control CeStudio on your PC via smartphone over Wi-Fi or hotspot — no app install required.

DXF Export

Seamless handover: export DXF from CeStudio and continue directly in your CAD tool.

Precise Capture

The CADPen records surface points and contours with high precision — even on fine details.

Go Anywhere

All components in one transport box — light to carry, fast to set up on site.

Adjust Pen Tip Length

Extend the tip (+50 mm) to reach recessed or deep points. Set the length and recalibrate in seconds.

Parametric vs Tracing

Structured parametric geometry or freehand high-resolution tracing — switch per task.

Large-Scale Capture

With the CADPen, you can capture large object areas — from long contours to broad, expansive surfaces.

Accuracy

The CADPen is tracked in 3D within a defined working volume by two cameras. The planes A/B/C correspond to distances of 1 m, 2 m, and 3 m from the camera baseline. Refer to the graphic and table below for the working area (width × height) and indicative accuracy.

Plane Distance Working Area (W × H) Accuracy
A 1.0 m (3.3 ft) 0.90 × 0.80 m (≈ 2.95 × 2.62 ft) 0.15–0.35 mm (0.006–0.014 in)
B 2.0 m (6.6 ft) 1.90 × 1.50 m (≈ 6.23 × 4.92 ft) 0.25–0.55 mm (0.010–0.022 in)
C 3.0 m (9.8 ft) 2.50 × 2.20 m (≈ 8.20 × 7.22 ft) 0.35–0.85 mm (0.014–0.033 in)
H · Tripod Height: 85 – 186 cm (2.8 – 6.1 ft)
